1) Call to Order

There was a call to order at 2:02 PM

2) Approval of Minutes – September/October/November

There was an approval of minutes with one edit. For the minutes in November -Faculty Senate gave a review of the Emeritus status for Roberta Roth. There was no formal approval of it.

3) Comments

1. 2022. The Evaluations letter was delivered to the Chancellor on 10/19/2022. No major changes were recommended by the chancellor about working remotely. The lawyers are still

4) Guest Invite sent to Chair-of-Chairs – Tracy Sherman

Ed sent an invite to Tracy Sherman – CSN – Chair of Chairs to be our guest for our Jan.uary 2023 Meeting

5) New Business

1. 1. Three months of meetings to approve at the next meeting

A suggestion for our next guest is Tracy from CSN who is Chair of Chairs – The invite will be made to her to join us for our meeting in January.

Jim Concept of cola. We do not know where it is going to go until June. NSHE Is the last to close. We can charge days where most cannot. PERS is going up as of July 1. Everytime PERS increases then so does RPA. It will be increasing 2%. There is nothing we can do about it and it will take place in July 2023.

Chair of Chairs it is going to be ideas on legislature and what vibe she is getting on that side (faculty).

Ed- let me know I fyou want to bring up anything  Jim- Ed You are the voice of administrative staff.

UNLV has a small ratio or admin staff that. It was important to have a face and voice because Cut staff don’t touch academic. Part-time instructors were next

Michelle would our faculty senate team to take stuff.

Jim as the budget stuff comes out you will have more things to take to the meetings for hot topics Ed furniture stuff and personal items in their office. That was the last thing discussed.

Ed do you want me to email out what the Chairs discuss? Jim- if it is pertinent to us then please bring it to us. But we ask that it be filtered, we don’t have to have a copy of their meeting minutes.

Glenn also we can email ed to ask if we have any pertinent information/questions, don’t wait if it is important.

Why do we have minutes

Jim we need an update from sherry about hiring a consulting firm of HR we can get updates on it. We are doing a salary study and review and evaluation process on activist from the past year. She does not have to come in and present but just an update on it. Tillary – he has been asked to be a part of the RFP review

Tillary we need the study to mean something. Because if we do a study we need money to be attached to it to make it happen.

So the idea of pilot jim would aim at large institution with TMCC, CSN and they have dedicated recruiters and hiring staff with the roles. Instead of trying it on us we have one person and it would not be easy to pilot a program like that.
