1) Call to Order

There was a call to order at 2:03 PM

Roll Call 

1. Present:

1. Quorum established.

2)Approval of Minutes – April 2024

There was a correction for being able to meet in May with no meeting in June. Marinn moved to approve, Crystal seconded the motion, and it was passed.

3) Guest for May – None

4) Comments

1. Faculty Senate Meeting about NFA and Funding 05/07/24:
   241. Agenda for CSN President and TMCC President ii) Agenda for the Chancellor search-National search iii) Agenda on Capital improvement iv) NFA is not on the June BOR – if anyone wants to be a part of NFA there is a website v) NFA brought up a tech issue about viewing all board members as per NRS 241.023 vi) Talking about the Governor’s budget – one time money and ongoing money

vii) COLA is going to be difficult – students will have to pay more viii) NSHE budget is $1.7 Billion

1. ix) FASFA – possible with fully funding the allowed amount
2. Congratulations to 2024-2026 Senators:

3. Names added to be considered for an appointed position:

Camille Vega and Darlene Aranda were elected for the appointed positions

Congratulations to all the senators for their hard work

1. Faculty Senate Elections for Chair/Vice Chair/Secretary

Glenn was elected to serve as Chair

Chelsie Martinez was elected as Vice Chair

Cruz Laudenslager was elected to serve as Secretary

5) Old Business A. No Old Business

6) New Business

1. No Faculty Sente meeting for June.
2. The Chair-of-Chairs Peter Reed will be switching to Vice Chair.

7) Next Meeting

1. Monday, July 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM via Zoom (Note for date change – Guest is Chancellor Patty Charlton)
2. We will need to discuss to keep the FS dates and times or elect on new day and time.
